Synopsis
In Cold Love is a psychological drama about betrayal, surveillance and emotional control inside an intimate relationship.
A woman stays home while her husband “works late.” She taps into his phone, confirms he is with someone else, and quietly prepares for his return. The film focuses on the cold space between discovery and confrontation, where love has already become calculation.
Director note
The film explores betrayal not through explosion, but through stillness: the silent moment when certainty replaces suspicion.
In Cold Love was created as an academic project for the Hellenic Open University courses SKI51 Cinematography 2 and SKI42 Editing 2. The film uses stable lighting, static compositions, focal-length shifts and elliptical editing to make the domestic space feel increasingly psychological and enclosed.
Visual and tonal approach
The film’s tone is cold, controlled and intimate. Rather than staging betrayal as melodrama, it observes the emotional mechanics of knowing: the phone, the message, the waiting, the preparation.
The visual approach emphasizes domestic space, silence and the psychological weight of a confrontation before it happens. The story is built around suspense, not action; around emotional temperature, not explanation.
