Synopsis
Metamorphosis / Η μεταμόρφωση is a short student film about emotional pressure, alienation and the moment when a person can no longer continue inside the world that surrounds them.
The film follows a young woman who can no longer stand the reality around her and moves toward a decision of no return. Through a restrained cinematic approach, the story focuses on inner rupture, isolation and transformation as a final response to emotional exhaustion.
Director note
The film approaches transformation not as fantasy, but as an internal breaking point: a silent passage from endurance to irreversible choice.
Metamorphosis belongs to Yorgos Keramydas’s early student short film work and reflects recurring interests in silence, emotional distance, isolation, moral pressure and visual narration.
Visual approach
The visual approach is built around restraint, atmosphere and emotional pressure. Rather than explaining the protagonist’s condition through dialogue, the film uses mood, framing and rhythm to suggest a gradual inner collapse.
Its title points toward change, but the transformation is psychological and existential: the movement from being trapped inside an unbearable condition to taking a final, irreversible step.
